PRE-CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Pre-clearance is an option, not a requirement.
Pre-clearance allows you to return to the United States as if you are arriving from a domestic port.
- U.S. Registry aircraft
- IFR Rules
- 5,000 foot altitude minimum
- The destination airport must be a CBP Port of Entry, however the mainland Port of Entry may waive that requirement and allow the aircraft to land at an airport that does not have CBP facilities.
- St. Thomas customs hours are 0800-1700
NO EXCEPTIONS
excluding medical emergencies
- 2 Hour Notice of departure (we can notify for you)
- 3 copies of the General Declaration Form
- 3 copies of the Private Aircraft Form 178
- 3 copies of both pilots’ License and Medical Form
- 3 copies of the Aircraft Registration Form
- Personal Customs Declaration Form for
both Crew and PAX
Forms are available at St. Thomas Jet Center
CBP User Fee Decal: Not required if you return directly to the United States from the USVI. Not required to enter the USVI from foreign ports. Required when arriving into Puerto Rico from a foreign port.
